I’m Sangeetha Gopalakrishnan, an award-winning plein-air artist, electrical engineer and backpacker who left behind a 19-year career in chip design to follow my true passion—painting nature’s raw beauty out in the wild using oil paints. My California Green Business-certified art practice reflects my deep commitment to sustainability in my art-making. I also founded a women’s outdoors group to empower women to explore nature and become advocates for the wilderness we cherish.

THE PAINTING PROCESS.
I am a plein air painter - that means I do full paintings or studies on location. It is the best way to capture the mood, light, smell and colors of the location you are painting.
